Rather than encouraging vertical records, our aim is to offer a thrilling but comfortable skiing/ boarding adventure at a relaxed pace. About the Owner
Since emigrating to Golden from Switzerland 40 years ago, Rudi Gertsch has been leading visitors through the mountains of western Canada.

The first Swiss guides arrived in Canada over 100 years ago, hired by the Canadian Pacific Railroad to safely promote mountaineering in the Rockies and Columbia Mountains.

As a mountain guide, Rudi Gertsch and his business, Purcell Helicopter Skiing Ltd, have prospered in the former CPR base camp, taking skiers from all over the world to the pristine summits and snow fields of the Purcell Mountains.

Along with Rudi, the PHS guiding team is proud to continue the tradition of mountain guiding that took roots in the area more than a century ago.
