Our Heli-Ski
Area
... lies a few minutes flight away and covers over
2000 square km - west of Golden and north of the Bugaboos
- in the Purcell Mountains. These mountains of Interior
British Columbia are famous for their reliable amounts
of fresh snow and exceptional powder.
We have close to 200 runs offering every conceivable type of mountain terrain and exposure. Over the years, Purcell Heli-Skiing has explored and skied the Dogtooth, McMurdo, Spillimacheen, Bobbie Burns and Battle mountain ranges
Skiing/boarding takes place on alpine glaciers and
open slopes, as well as in the trees and gladed areas
of the subalpine forest.
Spectacular scenery, pristine snow,
diversifed terrain - we strive to meet our guests'
needs and to provide the most memorable, safest heli-skiing/boarding
experience possible.
Our Daily Program
... begins each morning with a concise but thorough safety briefing to prepare you for a safe and enjoyable day in the mountains. Whether you are a first-timer or a veteran heli-skier, we ensure that you gain basic knowledge in helicopter and avalanche safety, including instruction on the use of an avalanche transceiver.
Our 3 Run program is a full day of heli-skiing best suited for those new to powder skiing/riding or with high-intermediate to low-advanced skiing/riding ability. This option is an excellent introduction to heli-skiing for those new to the adventure, but still a great choice for those experienced heli-skiers looking for a more relaxed pace of day.
Our 5 Run program is a full day of heli-skiing best suited for those with some experience with powder skiing/riding or with advanced to expert skiing/riding ability. This package is a great choice for strong skiers/riders looking for a somewhat faster paced day.
Not sure which program is best for you? No problem – we’re happy to take the time to discuss your particular situation. Please call us for more details.
A hearty packed lunch is included with all daily packages and is enjoyed out in the field between heli-ski runs. At the end of your day, you will be flown back to the PHS day lodge to enjoy our complimentary après-ski meat and cheese platter. In front of a roaring fire, you can swap stories with fellow skiers/riders, review photos, and simply relax in the beautiful surroundings.
Group Sizes
Our regular groups consist of 11 guests and one guide per group. At times, we may provide an extra guide to help balance the skiing and boarding abilities within one particular group.
To ensure a high quality experience, we limit the number of skiers and boarders to a maximum of 4 groups for one helicopter.
Private Groups are on a different program, and will be using a second helicopter.
