| Records from the
past years show that conditions are excellent
70%, good 25% and marginal 5% of the time.
However, the weather does not follow a pattern, skiing
conditions are unpredictable from one year to the
next, from one month to the next ...
In the mountains, rapid and extreme
changes are common. Snowfalls, wind, temperatures,
sunshine, etc ... are continuously affecting the snow
quality which may vary from deep bottomless powder
to just a few centimetres of fresh and fluffy snow,
to light wind packed or hard crust, to sun crust or
corn snow.
On days of marginal weather, we
ski in treed areas that provide fine visibility and
great skiing/riding.
During our 5 month season, there
are only a few days where bad weather prevents us
from flying. On such days, our guests have the opportunity
to visit and enjoy Golden's newest ski resort, Kicking
Horse Mountain Resort.
